Vargo, Lawrence & Michaels lead locals at SW Regional tourney

Another big weekend of high school wrestling is upon us. 

While the Class 2A grapplers continue their individual postseason in the Southwest Regional at IUP today, the local 3A wrestlers will begin theirs in the sectional championships at Connellsville Saturday.

The 2A SW Regional consists of schools from PIAA Districts 5, 6 and 7. It encompasses a quarter of the state. The top six place winners at each weight advance to the state championship in Hershey in two weeks.

Three big guns headline the group of 11 wrestling at IUP.
