When #1 Cochran purchased Bob Massie Toyota, CEO Rob Cochran vowed to carry on the legacy of the dealership’s late former owner, Robert “Bob” Massie Jr., by being a benefactor to the communities that “have made the dealership succeed for decades.”
Along with the purchase of the North Huntingdon-based dealership, Cochran took ownership of Bob Massie Auto Body on Lincoln Way in White Oak. The dealership itself was formerly located on Long Run Road in White Oak, but was forced to move after Toyota acquired property in the Norwin Town Square shopping center on Route 30.
Upon the ownership change, Cochran said he wanted to give back to the White Oak community as well as that of North Huntingdon, because White Oak is where the dealership originally became a success.
On Monday, Cochran made good on his promises by signing a $28,180 check benefiting the White Oak Animal Safe Haven, a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter that was founded by its board president, Ina Jean Marton, in 2003.
