Bonita L. Spina – North Belle Vernon

By obits

Bonita L. Spina, 80, of North Belle Vernon, was reunited with her Lord on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at Mon Valley Care Center, Carroll Township. Born Nov. 4, 1938, in Belle Vernon, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Mary Shoman Spina. A woman of faith and a member of St. Sebastian Church, she was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant, where she worked in the clerical department. Bonita enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and meeting with her “school friends” for lunch and cards. Always generous and kind, she spent much time creating beautiful pieces of crochet work to share. She had a way of making those around her smile, with her quiet sense of humor. Her final days were spent at Mon Valley care center, surrounded by a staff that genuinely cared for and about her. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Ann Spina of McKees Rocks; niece, Beth Ann Spina Stauffer and husband Andrew of Ligonier; great-niece, Anna Stauffer and an uncle, William Shoman of Charleroi. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Bonita Spina at 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Condolences accepted at the funeral home’s website, www.parzynskifuneralhome.com.
