Carroll Township Police Chief Paul Brand will receive the Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award March 4 at the Laurel Highland Council Boy Scouts of America dinner.

The event will be held in conjunction with Monongahela Valley Hospital at the Anthony L. Lombardi Conference Center.

Solicitor Herman Bigi said Brand was unanimously voted to receive the honor.

“I want to say as a former Washington County assistant district attorney and prosecutor, I have known many police officers,” Bigi said. “Brand is one of the best I have ever dealt with in the field. His respect for others and his contributions to the community are well     known.”
