Warriors earn first section title since 2015

With a 59-19 Section 3-4A victory over Yough and Southmoreland’s loss to Belle Vernon Area, the Elizabeth Forward girls basketball team claimed its first section title since 2015 Monday night.
Bri Spirnak poured in a game-high 25 points for EF (14-5, 12-1), which led 29-7 at halftime and outscored the Cougars, 30-12, in the second half.
Jordan Pater paced Yough (3-16, 0-12) with eight points.
EF, which has won eight straight games, hosts Belle Vernon Area Thursday while Yough travels to California Wednesday.
