Playing against their rival and for their only senior, the Belle Vernon Area boys basketball team played arguably its best basketball of the season Saturday.

In return, the Leopards got a win over their rivals across the river and earned themselves a playoff spot with a 75-67 win over Ringgold.

“We got our ticket to go (to the playoffs). That’s a big thing for us,” BVA coach Joe Salvino said. “The biggest thing was these kids played as a team. They dedicated this game to Jake (Sepesky) and they went out and took it.”

It was a true team performance for BVA, who had some big performances to help push them to the win.
