Allegheny County police Friday arrested a former headmaster of Monongahela Valley Catholic High School for the alleged assault of a 10-year-old boy in 2001, authorities said.
The Rev. Hugh J. Lang, 88, was a priest at St. Therese in Munhall at the time of the alleged assault, said police Inspector Andrew Schurman.
Lang served at Mon Valley Catholic High School from 1964 to 1976.
Schurman said the unidentified alleged victim, who now lives in another country, saw media coverage of the statewide grand jury report last year alleging decades of abuse and cover-ups in six Catholic dioceses, including the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
