Helen B. Byers – Monongahela

Helen B. Byers, 90, of Monongahela, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, in Sunrise of McCandless Assisted Living, Pittsburgh. She was born Oct. 7, 1928, in Hazelkirk, the daughter of Michael and Helen Remen Belback.​ Helen was a graduate of Monongahela High School, Class of 1946, and helped to organize many of their reunions. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Monongahela. In her younger years, Helen enjoyed dancing. She loved spending time with her family, reading and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.​ She is survived by her son, Robert M. Byers of South Park; daughter, Linda Pirollo and husband Rob of Gibsonia; four grandchildren, Chris Byers and Samantha Aumiller, Karilyn Kamouyerou and husband Michael, Matt Pirollo and wife Dianne Pham, Eric Pirollo; two great-grandchildren, Leila and Mila Kamouyerou; and a sister, Ann Strelinski of Belle Vernon.​ In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clark Byers, who died July 26, 2012; a brother, Carl Belback; and a sister, Eleanor Sweda.​ Friends will be received from noon to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 430 W. Main St., Monongahela, PA 15063.
