Versailles Borough Police Department now has a full-time sergeant.
Mayor Jim Fleckenstein swore in Sgt. Timothy J. Walker at Tuesday’s council meeting.
Walker, a McKeesport Area High School graduate, joined the Versailles police force in 2002 as a part-time patrolman and was promoted to full-time in 2005.
Walker, also a certified EMT, graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Police Academy in 1999.
He thanked council, the mayor and his fellow officers for their support, and said it was his childhood dream to become a police officer.
Walker said he has enjoyed his time as a patrolman.
