BVA director objects to safety grant process

A Belle Vernon Area School Board director expressed concern Monday with the process used in drafting a grant application for increased security.
Directors Lou Rood, Daniel Sepesky, Aaron Bialon, Kathleen Forte, Joe Grata, Michelle Callaway-Rodriguez, Joel Whiteko and Gloria Yuschak approved a two-part grant application seeking $25,000 from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to help offset costs for a school resource officer and $347,758 to purchase security video surveillance equipment for the district’s seven buildings.
