McKeesport seeks more money for trail, garage project

After receiving a nearly $3 million PennDOT multimodal grant to revamp a parking garage and encourage new groups of walkers and cyclists to enter the city by extending the Steel Valley Trail, McKeesport council voted last week to submit an application for another $3 million grant to be used toward the same project.

The new grant would come through the state Department of Community and Economic Development’s transportation fund.
