Liberty Way to stay shut down

Liberty Way in Liberty borough will remain closed through next week as a result of a major landslide that came barreling down the hill Monday and blocked both lanes of traffic, according the borough council.

The Mon Valley was hit hard last weekend with heavy rains as a result of Tropical Storm Gordon. Rainfall totals throughout the Mon Valley ranged between 6 and 8 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
