McKeesport’s International Village cultural festival is just around the corner and its precursor event, the 10th annual Village for Kids, is slated for Aug. 13.
The event is coordinated by the McKeesport office of state Sen. Jim Brewster, D-McKeesport, and is free and open to all Mon Valley children and their parents. It will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the Lions Club Bandshell in Renziehausen Park.
The program was first held on the 50th anniversary of International Village, a three-day ethnic festival that has been a McKeesport tradition since 1960.
International Village 2018 is scheduled for Aug 14 to Aug. 16.
Village for Kids is part of the McKeesport Healthier Communities Partnership’s Youth Logic Model, which focuses on educational, health, social, spiritual and recreational needs of children.
