The season of giving is upon us as the Mon Valley Salvation Army hosted its second annual Red Kettle kickoff dinner Thursday at St. Spyridon’s Hellenic Center in Monessen.

With a red kettle campaign goal of $60,000, Mon Valley Salvation Army Capt. Kara Martin has been pleasantly surprised by the way the community supports each other. She hopes to see that energy continue to grow and spread further.
