13th annual trunk or treat set at City Park in Monessen
For the MVI
Individuals, families, community members, and organizations are invited to join in the fun at the 13th annual Monessen Trunk or Treat, set for 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Monessen City Park walking track.
This beloved community event offers a safe and festive way for children and families to celebrate Halloween. Participants can enjoy trick-or-treating from creatively decorated vehicles, music, costumes, and more.
Vehicle lineup begins at 1 p.m., and prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place for the best-decorated vehicles.
In the event of inclement weather, trunk or treat will be moved to the upper parking lot next to the bathrooms in City Park.
Organizers are currently seeking individuals, groups, and organizations to participate by decorating their vehicles and handing out candy. There is no registration fee to hand out candy or to attend.
Those interested are encouraged to register in advance by completing and returning the official registration form or by contacting Karla Spangler at kspang06@gmail.com or Matt Shorraw at mshorraw@ gmail.com.
Preregistration is not required to participate.
“This event has become a wonderful Monessen tradition and is a great opportunity for the community to come together, have fun, and create a safe and memorable Halloween experience for local families,” organizers said.
