Area man charged with molesting young girls
CRIME BRIEF
A Brownsville man is accused of molesting two pre-teen girls in Charleroi.
George Michael Lacotta, 43, was charged with multiple felony child sex crimes, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, four counts of aggravated indecent assault of a child, two counts of endangering the welfare of children, two counts of corruption of minors, five counts of indecent assault
of a person less than 13 years of age and harassment stemming from several alleged incidents on multiple occasions dating back more than eight years ago, court records state.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the girls’ mother went to Charleroi Regional police June 15 to report her daughters had being sexually assaulted when they were younger.
One girl told police she was fondled and sexually assaulted on multiple occasions going back to when she was 9 and continuing until she was 12, according to court documents.
The other girl told investigators she was 8 when she was molested, and he would also make lewd comments to her over the years.
Lacotta was arraigned at 8 a.m. Friday, and is being held in the Washington County Correctional Facility unable to post a $350,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Eric Porter is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. Sept. 17.
