Moose Lodge Revival to perform Saturday in Forward Township

The last of the free Summer Concerts in the Park presented by Forward Township at Gallatin-Sunnyside Park, 1942 Gallatin Tigers Rd., (Monongahela), is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday featuring the bluegrass band Moose Lodge Revival. Formed in late 2023 in Elizabeth, the band got its name from the history of live bluegrass at the Elizabeth Moose in the 1980s and ’90s. Since then, the band has made appearances at regional bluegrass festivals, private events, and the 2026 Three Rivers Arts Festival. With members Ryan Meals, Ron Mesing, and Adam Petterson, all from the Elizabeth area, the name was fitting to honor the Moose’s legacy and the music brought there by Rod McNeil of Elizabeth. The band plays material from across the vast bluegrass and traditional fiddle tune songbook by such artists as Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin, Reno & Smiley, the Stanley Brothers, and into second-generation giants like John Hartford and Tony Rice. Dobro player Mesing, the veteran of the group, toured and recorded with Red Allen and has his own albums that include appearances by Ricky Skaggs, Jerry Douglas, Kenny Baker, ‘Uncle’ Josh Graves, and more. Submitted
