Barbecue and fun are set to end the summer this weekend with an annual tradition in McKeesport.

Known for attracting many of the region’s top barbecue chefs, the Renzie Rib Fest is an annual Labor Day weekend event that wraps up McKeesport’s Summer Concert Series in Renziehausen Park.

The Rib Fest will feature regional BBQ and grill favorites, and vendors start serving at 5 p.m. Friday and at noon Saturday, Sunday and Monday. There will be concerts, a craft and vendor show hosted by the McKeesport Lions Club and a fireworks display to close out the celebration.

All concerts will be at the McKeesport Lions bandshell. Admission and parking are free throughout the event, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.

The festival opens at 5 p.m. Friday, and will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Admission, entertainment and parking are free.

The McKeesport Lions Club will hold its second annual craft and vendor fair from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday (during Ribfest) at Renzie Park in McKeesport, next to the Lions Bandshell.

The Renzie Rib Fest opens with Beatlemania Magic a tribute to the Beatles that recreates the magic of Beatlemania. A national touring Beatles tribute band, they recreate the early Beatles concerts with identical costumes, equipment and spot on harmonies. Songs from “I Want to Hold Your Hand” to “I’m Down” played using Vox amps, Gretsch, Hofner & Rickenbacker guitars made famous by the Beatles.

McKeesport’s Summer Concert Series is presented by Mayor Tom Maglicco, the McKeesport Lions Club, and the Allegheny Regional Asset District. The following is the entertainment schedule:

Friday

• 7 p.m. Beatlemania Magic (Beatles tribute band).

Saturday

• 3 p.m. Jeff Jimerson and Airborne

• 7 p.m. Suns of Beaches (Jimmy Buffett tribute band)

Sunday

• 3 p.m. Pendulum (CCR tribute)

• 7 p.m. The Jaggerz

Monday

• 3 p.m. This Indecision (classic rock)

• 7 p.m. Pet Sounds (The Beach Boys tribute).

• Fireworks will follow the Monday evening concert.
