Walter P. Varega – Monessen

Walter P. Varega, 92, of Monessen, passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, at his daughter’s home with his loving daughter and family by his side. Born July 5, 1934, in Monessen, he was the son of the late Samuel and Frances Smolinski Varega. A lifelong resident of Monessen, Mr. Varega attended Crossroads Ministry, Finleyville. He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Monessen, where he worked with the Track Gang on the railroad, and later at the City of Monessen garage after retirement. Walter...
