Summer on Main Block Party series to continue Thursday

A raffle will raise money for Michael Toth, 11, who is battling leukemia.

The final Summer on Main Block Party of the season will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in downtown Monongahela.

The community is invited to enjoy one more summer evening on Main Street featuring live music from Nate Frost, local food and craft vendors, family-friendly activities and opportunities to support downtown businesses.

The event will also feature a 50/50 raffle benefiting the Toth family. Eleven-year-old Michael Toth was recently diagnosed with leukemia and is undergoing treatment that includes ongoing hospital visits and travel.

Funds raised will help the family manage medical and travel expenses, as well as time away from work, so they can remain focused on Michael’s health and recovery.

Raffle tickets may be purchased on the day of the event at the Mon Valley Alliance building, 235 W. Main St., or at 1837 Botanicals, located at 168 W. Main Street.

“We have enjoyed seeing the community come together throughout the Summer on Main Block Parties this summer, and we hope everyone will join us for one final evening downtown,” said Amanda Altamare, event organizer. “This event is also an opportunity for our community to rally around the Toth family and let them know they are not facing this fight alone.”

Summer on Main Block Parties are designed to bring residents and visitors into downtown Monongahela to enjoy local entertainment, connect with their neighbors and support the businesses and organizations that help make the community special.
