Brush fire reported in Monessen

Monessen Volunteer Fire Department No. 1 responded to a brush fire in the area of Kentucky Alley and Maple Avenue on Monday. Multiple callers reported smoke and flames coming from a vacant lot. Crews located a pile of burning debris involving brush and worked to bring the fire under control. The fire department thanked everyone who called 911 and helped provide accurate information so it could be contained quickly. Monessen VFD No. 1
