College sports facing major question on gambling

Those anxious to tease out worstcase scenarios that could come from gambling’s growing stranglehold on sports couldn’t have found a better place for one of those scenarios to land — in the middle of college football, a sport that for decades has proven uniquely unable to deal with its most-pressing problems.
