California Area celebrates ’26 graduates

There were 67 graduates in the Class of 2026.

For the MVI

California Area High School held its 2026 commencement Thursday night at Trojan Field.

There were 67 graduates. Class of 2026 valedictorians are Ally Grodz, Morgan Ross and Dasia Wright. Salutatorian is Amira Ghubbar Ally Grodz of California is the daughter of Joseph and Danielle Grodz. She plans to attend Gannon University to study in its five-year accelerated physician assistant program.

Morgan Ross of Coal Center is the daughter of Todd and Shanna Ross. She plans to attend Washington & Jefferson College to major in child development and education and be a part of the track and field team.

Dasia Wright of Daisytown is the daughter of Kara Kelley and Charles Wright. She plans to attend a community college to study nursing.

Amira Ghubbar of California is the daughter of Abraham Ghubbar and Nagia Youniss. Amira is planning to pursue bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering.
