Leo Gniefkowski – Rostraver Township

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP Leo Gniefkowski, 91, of Rostraver Township, died Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Born in Glass port on Nov. 25, 1934, he was the son of the late Leon and Ceci l ia Mularski Gniefkowski. Leo lived a long and full life and enriched the lives of his family and friends. He married the love of his life, Patricia Sokol of Van Meter on Oct. 4, 1958. He was a loving, supportive and kind husband, brother, father, grandfather (“Dziadek”) and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. He was blessed with five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Korean War and carried the lessons of service, strength and commitment with him throughout his life! He is survived by his three children, Brenda (Gary) Dilmore, Lee (Lisa) Gniefkowski and Susan (John) Kosinski; five grandchildren, Shawn (Brittany) Dilmore, Brandon Dilmore, Samantha (Jared) Gniefkowski, JT (Emily) Kosinski and Tara (Dahlton) Kosinski; great-grandchildren, Jaylee Dobsch, Jaycee Dobsch and Griffin Dilmore; and sisters, Celine Skerkoski and Ruth Watson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia (Sokol) Gniefkowski; and sisters, Rita Tragesser and Lorraine Hickey.
