Community Bank celebrating 125th anniversary with campaign

For the MVI

Community Bank, the wholly owned subsidiary of CB Financial Services, Inc., will celebrate its 125th anniversary on July 1. Founded in 1901 in Carmichaels, Pa., Community Bank has grown from a single office in Greene County to 12 branches serving communities across Southwestern Pennsylvania and the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia.

As part of the anniversary, Community Bank is launching the “Generations of Trust” campaign, a multimonth initiative designed to honor the people, families, and communities that have shaped the bank over more than a century. The campaign reflects Community Bank’s long-standing commitment to building relationships rooted in trust, partnership and local service.

“Since 1901, Community Bank has been built on one enduring belief: that real financial partnerships improve lives, and make our communities stronger” said John H. Montgomery, President and CEO of Community Bank. “This July, we mark 125 years, and rather than simply look back, we’re celebrating forward. We’ve stood strong for 125 years because we lead with trust, we put people first, and we work together. That foundation is what guides us in everything that follows.”

The campaign will spotlight the enduring relationships that have defined Community Bank’s legacy, including real families whose banking relationships with the institution span multiple generations. Through storytelling shared across television, radio, print, digital, and social media channels, Community Bank will highlight how these relationships reflect the bank’s role in supporting local families and businesses across generations.

Additional anniversary content will explore the evolution of banking over the past 125 years, from handwritten ledgers to today’s digital tools, while also highlighting the bank’s history and deep community roots through historical photographs and a dedicated anniversary website.

Community Bank’s branch locations will host anniversary celebrations on the official milestone date by honoring the bank’s 125 years of shared history and deep community roots, with customer appreciation gifts and baked goods that showcase the talents of local customers specializing in baking and artistry.

Community Bank enters its 125th year from a position of strength. In 2025, the institution posted adjusted net income of $14.4 million, executed a strategic repositioning of its securities portfolio, completed the buildout of a new Specialty Treasury Payments and Services program and expanded its mortgage lending capabilities, all while maintaining strong capital and liquidity levels.

“The investments we’ve made in people, technology, and revenue-driven strategies have laid a foundation we intend to build on,” Montgomery added. “We are committed to delivering sustainable growth by making banking simpler, faster and easier for every customer we serve, for the next 125 years.”
