‘Anything Goes’ to set sail at the Grand Theatre
Mon River Arts will present the Tony-winning musical by Cole Porter for two weekends.

Mon River Arts will bring a classic from Broadway’s golden age to the local stage.
Packed with music, comedy, dancing and entertainment, the classic “Anything Goes” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and May 15-16, with a matinee 2 p.m. May 17 at the Grand Theatre, 207 S. 2nd Ave. in Elizabeth.
Tickets are $22 for adults, $18 for seniors and $15 for students.

“Anything Goes” is a 1934 Cole Porter musical farce set aboard the SS American, where a nightclub singer helps a young man woo an English heiress. To avoid being recognized by his boss, who is also on the ship, he disguises himself as a gangster accomplice of a minister, who is actually a gangster on the run from the law.
The Mon River Arts production is directed by Art DeConciliis and Jeff Johnston, with music directed by Franklin Mosley, and choreographed by Hannah Feldhues.
