David C. Matsick Sr. – Carroll Township

CARROLL TOWNSHIP David C. Matsick Sr., 68, of Carroll Township, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at his home. Born on Dec. 1, 1957, in Charleroi, he was a son of the late John and Charlotte Smedley Matsick. Having been a journeyman tree trimmer, he grew to love being outside watch ing birds, feeding the wildlife, cutting the lawn and most especially riding his motorcycles. He rode with his good friend Brice Smith. He loved all kinds of music. David enjoyed turning his grandkids on to different genres of music. David loved bowling his whole life, especially with his good friend Captain Don Daniels and all the guys at the Lyceum in Marianna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Matsick. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Lynn M. (Doyak) Matsick; his children, Leigh Matsick (Donald), Lexi Amatangelo (William), and Dave Jr. and Heather; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, closest to him were Takeo and Tenzig Tolliver and Zelda Savage; a sister, Kathy (Vance) Bunardzya of Rostraver; two brothers, Tim (Nancy) Matsick of Belle Vernon, and Steve (Lynn) Matsick of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; Greg Davis and Donnie Kaczka, two people from his tree trimming days that he had a great friendship with that lasted until David’s passing; and his faithful chihuahua that was attached to him at the hip, Lady Gaga.
