“Into the Woods” weaves together the stories of familiar fairy-tale characters – including a Baker and his wife, Cinderella, and Jack – each pursuing a wish they hope will change their lives.

When the Baker and his wife learn they are unable to have a child due to a Witch’s curse, they set out on a journey to break the spell. Along the way, wishes are granted and dreams are realized – but not without consequence.

As the story unfolds, the characters must confront the unexpected outcomes of their choices, exploring themes of responsibility, community and what it truly means to live “happily ever after.”

For Sabrina Hykes-Davis, associate professor of theatre, the production highlights the depth of student performance and collaboration.

“‘Into the Woods’ gives students the chance to bring well-known characters to life in ways that feel fresh and honest,” Hykes-Davis said. “They’re doing thoughtful, detailed work that really connects with audiences.”
