Fire damages McKeesport apartment building

Smoke billowed from an apartment building in McKeesport Wednesday evening as firefighters worked to contain flames that broke out inside. Massive flames and large amounts of white smoke were seen coming from the roof of the home, located along the 1600 block of Sumac St. just after 4 p.m. It appeared that multiple people had been evacuated from the building. Around 4:30 p.m., it appeared the roof of the structure had begun to partially collapse. The Washington Salvation Army said in a post on Facebook that service teams out of Washington City were deployed to the scene to offer mutual aid. WTAE-TV
