Robert W. Pepper

Robert W. Pepper, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, family member and f r ien d , passed away unexpect-edly on April 11, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on Nov. 12, 1945, in Brownsville, Pa., Robert lived a life defined by dedication, service and care for those around him. He devoted 40 years to education, spending most of his career as a fifth-grade teacher and concluding his distinguished service as principal of Charleroi Area Elementary School. He was deeply respected by students, colleagues and the community for his leadership, kindness and commitment to shaping young lives. Robert was also an active member of his community. He was a past Exalted Ruler of Charleroi Elks Lodge 494 and a member of the State Elks Ritual Team. He attended First Christian Church of Charleroi, where his faith and fellowship were an important part of his life. Above all, Robert was a devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Higinbotham Pepper, whom he shared 56 years of marriage; his loving children, Kimberly Pepper of Coal Center and Dr. Kraig Pepper (Jerrilea) of Fort Worth, Texas; his cherished grandchildren, Erik Pepper of Stephenville, Texas, Benjamin Pepper of Lubbock, Texas, and Jaxson Pepper of Fort Worth, Texas; his sister, Rebecca Rubis (Randy) of Canonsburg; his brother, John Pepper (Wendy) of Eighty Four; his mother-inlaw, Olive Higinbotham of Fallowfield Township; his sisters-in-law, Charmel Radcliff (Mark) of St. Mary’s, W.Va., and Linda Waggoner (Robert) of Fallowfield Township; along with many loved nephews and nieces, as well as all of his extended family members and dear friends.
