James Henry Lockschmidt – Rostraver Township

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP James Henry Lockschmidt, 80, of Rostraver Township, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026. Born in Pitts burgh on Oct. 28, 1945, he was the son of the late Frank Lockschmidt and Anna Vale ntine Lockschmidt Holbrook. James worked for General Motors and retired after 41 years. He loved traveling and visiting national parks, and he and his wife, Bonnie, visited 49 of the 50 states of the United States. He was very active outdoors and enjoyed working in his yard. He was also dedicated to the Westmoreland Yough Trail Chapter (WYTC) as part of the “Over The Hill Gang.” James was VERY proud to have enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17 and honorably served his country in Vietnam and achieved the rank of sergeant. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bonnie Brehm Lockschmidt; children, James Charles (SheaLea) Lockschmidt of North Lewisburg, Ohio; Beth Bresslin of Maryland and Mark Lockschmidt of Rostraver Township; grandchildren, Robby, William and Tyler Lockschmidt, Jackson and Alexandra Gauci and Alice Sokol-Hesson; brother, Dale Holbrook (Laura Hearn) of Hampstead, N.C.; brotherin- law, Donald (Fran) Brehm of Canton, Mich.; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Holbrook; and sister, Noreen Dobos. At James’ request, there will be no public viewing and interment will be private.
