Michael A. Scagline – Forward Township

FORWARD TOWNSHIP Michael A. Scagline, 65, of Forward Township, died unexpectedly Monday, April 6, 2026, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1960, in New Eagle, a son of Betty Munger Scagline Kisner, who survives and resides in Forward Township, and the late Samuel Donald Scagline. Michael was a 1978 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School. He was a self-employed contractor working for numerous years in the Mon Valley and South Hills area. He enjoyed hunting at the camp in Potter County with Greg Rollison, who he thought of as a brother. Michael also spent his time gardening, woodworking and taking the dog, Toby, for walks. He is survived by his companion of 26 years, Veronica Slominsky; four siblings, Beth S. Mills (Charles Christner) of Elizabeth, Dr. Rhonda (Thurman) Wingrove of Monongahela, Rodney (Lori) Scagline of Murrysville and Dawn (Scott) Valentino of Acme; stepbrother, Robert (Anna) Kisner of Elizabeth; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, William Kisner Sr.; stepbrother, William Kisner Jr.; niece, Alyssa (Valentino) Plumberg; and brotherin- law, David Mills. Friends will be received from 2 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where a funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Eisaman officiating.
