Naked woman arrested in White Oak store

A woman faces several charges after being arrested while naked Thursday afternoon in one of the stores at Oak Park Mall Shopping Center.

Police said when they arrived at the business, patrons and employees pointed them to an area near the registers, where they found Tammy Canut, 53, of North Huntington bleeding from the face.

Canut was immediately taken into custody and placed in a patrol car. Medics treated her for minor injuries and treated two injured adults inside the store as well. A video circulating of the incident showed the suspect pushing a dog in a stroller during the incident, kicking and shoving an employee and bystanders and knocking over food displays.

After reviewing CCTV footage, interviewing several witnesses and consulting with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, Canut was charged with two counts of simple assault, indecent assault, indecent exposure, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, open lewdness and harassment.

She was taken to the Allegheny County Jail and is awaiting arraignment.
