Twin Rivers Elementary School reading champs

Twin Rivers Elementary School third-grade students recently participated in an eightweek Reading Champions Program designed to promote a love of literacy. Sponsored by U.S. Steel and the Pittsburgh Penguins, the program encouraged McKeesport Area School District students to “drop everything and read” each day, with a goal of more than 100 minutes of reading per week, per student. Throughout the program, students worked toward three reading milestones—Rookie, First Line, and MVP. The district congratulated the third-graders for achieving the highest level: MVP Reading Champion. McKeesport Area School District
