Route 906 closed briefly after large boulder falls
A large boulder fell along Route 906 in Rostraver Township Tuesday afternoon, briefly closing part of the roadway.
Rostraver Township Police Chief Scott Sokol said the boulder came down from a hillside but was stopped by a safety barrier before entering the road. However, it struck other debris on the way down, breaking it into smaller pieces that scattered across the roadway.
Portions of Route 906 were temporarily shut down while PennDOT crews cleared the debris.
Sokol said the road reopened by 7:45 p.m., and no additional problems were reported.
