Gerald ‘Jerry’ M. Bohlander – San Bernardino, Calif.

Gerald “Jerry” M. Bohlander “Chicken Eyes,” 78, passed away on March 7, 2026, in San Bernardino, Calif., with his son Jon and family by his side. Jerry, a graduate of Charleroi High School, served his country in the Army in Vietnam. He worked at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel for 10 years before moving to California with his wife Liz and son Jonathan. Jerry retired from Mars/Dones Pet Care after 35 years of dedicated work. As avid Steelers and Pirates fans, Jerry and his son Jon shared a broad contingent of Pittsburgh fans, forming deep bonds and friendships. Jerry is survived by his son, Jon (Nydia Ortega); stepson, Tim; stepdaughters, Kathy and Kelly (Clark); sister, Sandra (Raymond) Conrad; nieces, Rachel Conrad, Melissa (Henry) Corey, Heather (Scott) McMinds; and great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Jerry was predeceased by his wife, Liz; parents, Jack and Helen Bohlander; brother, Philip Bohlander; and sister-in-law, Janice Bohlander. A celebration of life is planned for this summer in Charleroi.
