Police charge ex-worker with lewd behavior in restaurant

West Mifflin police have charged a former Denny’s employee with exposing himself to three customers while he worked at the restaurant.

Zachary Hiles, 29, of Lincoln Place, is facing three counts of indecent exposure, one count of disorderly conduct and three counts of harassment, according to a criminal complaint.

At about 5:20 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the West Mifflin Denny’s, at 2200 Lebanon Church Road.

According to the complaint, three women had entered Denny’s at approximately 4 a.m. Sunday. After they were seated at a table, Hiles made a lewd comment, the complaint says.

He then exposed himself and masturbated in front of them, according to the complaint. One of the women told the Denny’s manager on shift at the time what happened, the complaint said.

The manager on shift told Hiles to leave and said it was “not the first time that Hiles made inappropriate comments or actions,” according to the complaint.

Denny’s general manager later terminated Hiles, according to the complaint.

Police obtained an arrest warrant, as the officer “felt there was a risk that Hiles would not comply with a summons to appear in court to answer for this crime,” the complaint said.

Online court records indicated that Hiles had not been arraigned as of Wednesday morning.
