Davanzo announces reelection for 4th term in 58th District

For the MVI

State Rep. Eric Davanzo, R-Smithton, has announced he is seeking reelection for his fourth full term to represent the 58th Legislative District.

Davanzo first won a special election in March 2020. Davanzo was then reelected to full terms in 2020, 2022 and 2024.

The community is invited to a campaign kickoff at 6 p.m. Friday at the Rostraver Central Volunteer Fire Department, 1100 Fells Church Rd., Rostraver Township. Pizza and drinks will be available, and Davanzo said he looks forward to “visiting with friends and neighbors about the future of our district.”

In his campaign announcement, Davanzo said he feels he represents the blue-collar family values that are rooted in Westmoreland County, where he was raised. One of the most important aspects of his work as a representative has been making sure the interests of the state’s smaller communities are as well served as the larger urban areas that tend to get more attention.

“It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve the people of the 58th District in the Penns ylvania House of Representatives. As I seek reelection, I want to thank the families, workers, small business owners, first responders, farmers, and seniors who make our community strong,” Davanzo stated in his campaign announcement.

Since first taking office, Davanzo says his focus has been simple: putting the 58th District first.

“That means fighting for good paying jobs, standing up for responsible energy policies that protect both our economy and our grid, supporting law enforcement, defending taxpayers, and protecting the values that matter to our communities and neighborhoods,” he said.

Davanzo said he has worked to bring state grant dollars back home where they belong — supporting local infrastructure, public safety, community projects, and economic development initiatives that create opportunity.

“I have consistently opposed unnecessary tax increases and pushed for greater government transparency and accountability. Families are feeling the pressure of inflation and rising costs, and Harrisburg must live within its means, just like our households,” he said.

Davanzo said public safety remains a top priority.

“Our police officers deserve our respect and the tools they need to keep our neighborhoods secure. At the same time, I continue to advocate for policies that strengthen our schools, support parents, and ensure that local voices, not distant bureaucrats, guide decisions that impact our children,” he stated.

Davanzo said focusing on energy independence is another critical issue for not only his district, but the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

“Southwestern Pennsylvania has long been an energy leader. We must protect family-sustaining jobs while ensuring reliable and affordable power for residents and businesses,” he said. “Reckless policies that drive up utility bills hurt working families and seniors on fixed incomes.”

Davanzo said he remains committed to ensuring that elected officials are accessible and accountable.

“Whether at community events, local meetings, or through my district office, I have made it a priority to listen. The best ideas don’t come from political insiders, they come from the people who live and work here everyday,” he said. “Serving as your state representative has never been about headlines or higher office. It has been about results for our towns, our schools, our veterans, our first responders, and our families. I humbly ask for your continued support so I can keep fighting for the values and priorities that matter most to our community.”

The 58th District comprises Adamsburg, Arona and East Huntingdon, as well as parts of Hempfield, Jeannette, Madison, Monessen, Mt. Pleasant, North Belle Vernon, Penn Borough, Rostraver, Sewickley, Smithton, South Huntingdon, Sutersville and West Newton.

Davanzo lives in Smithton with his wife, Rachelle, and daughter Brielle, and daughter Brianna Williams and husband Dan live in Missouri.
