Greater Allegheny Foundation Awards presented

The Greater Allegheny Education Foundation’s Mon Valley Initiative Awards are presented annually to graduates of Clairton and McKeesport High Schools. The $750 annually renewable grants are intended to be used as hand money to help cover expenses such as travel costs and textbook fees. Pictured at the foundation’s annual dinner at Youghiogheny Country Club is Clairton High School recipient Michael Spence (fourth from left), who is using his grant to support his higher education at Point Park University. Also shown, from left, are foundation board member A.J. Tedesco of McKeesport, Michael’s mother Cydney Spence, Clairton High School counselor Maureen Shaw and foundation President Karen Kutzer. For information on the foundation and its awards, contact Karen Kutzer at 412- 563-3292.
