Social Security recipients deserve cost-of-living hike equal to that given to Pa. officials
GOV. JOSH SHAPIRO AND OTHER TOP government officials in Pennsylvania received a 3.3% cost-of-living increase in pay that took effect Jan. 1. Shapiro, a Democrat, now earns $253,870, making him the highest paid governor in the country. State Supreme Court Chief Justice Debra Todd, who was elected to the bench as a Democrat, will be paid $278,496 this year; the other high court justices, $270,622. The paychecks of Republican state Attorney General Dave Sunday and Republican state Treasurer Stacy Garrity (who’s running for governor) now amount to $211,219 a year.
