Rostraver Township’s new tax collector sworn in
Jody Spedaliere was elected in November.
New Rostraver Township tax collector Jody Spedaliere was officially sworn into office this week after being elected in November.
Spedaliere, who defeated incumbent Pat Lander in the general election, was sworn in Thursday morning by Magisterial District Judge John Christner. Spedaliere said he’s been excited to get to work for the Rostraver community.
“Thank you for trusting me to be the next tax collector,” he said. “I will do the best job that I can do, and I just look forward to serving the township.”
Spedaliere said he will try to make the transition as smooth as possible. He added that the Rostraver tax office will be open by appointment only in January and February because county and local tax notices will not go out until March 1.
School real estate taxes will be mailed out Aug. 1.
Beginning March 2, the tax office will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays. The office will be closed Fridays and on weekends.
Spedaliere added that all forms of payment will be accepted, including cash, checks, money orders and online payments.
Spedaliere said if Rostraver residents have any questions, he can be reached at rostravertax@gmail.com.
Residents who need a 2025 tax receipt or a lien certificate should email Lander at plander@pltaxcollector.com.
For 2025 tax supplementals, checks should be made payable to Jody Spedaliere, Tax Collector, at 203 Municipal Drive, Rostraver Township, PA 15012.
To pay for supplementals by cash, Spedaliere asks that residents reach out through email or call 724-929-7001 to schedule an appointment.
Real estate taxes have been turned over to the Westmoreland County Tax Claim Bureau, 40 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Suite 109 Greensburg, PA 15601. Spedaliere asks residents to call 724-830-3428 if they have any questions regarding those taxes.
