Patricia Allene Murphy

Patricia Allene Murphy, (née Sanders), lived a full and joyous life for 77 years in this world before passing into the next on Jan. 5, 2026. She departed for her final adventure peacefully and surrounded by family. Pat was born on Aug. 11, 1948, in Fallowfield Township, the only child of Thomas and Wilda Sanders (née Michener). She was an alumna of California University of Pennsylvania (now PennWest California), and had a long career teaching middle school English and social studies at Ringgold School District. She was also a cheerleading coach and a professional piano player, spending many years as the accompanist for the West Newton Community Singers. She married Dennis Murphy in an outdoor ceremony at his brother AJ’s home in 1980. Their son, Connor, was born in 1983, and together they gave him a wonderful childhood. Pat was a golfer, a skier, a dog lover, and a big fan of Jimmy Buffett, musical theater, and Pittsburgh sports. She traveled widely in Europe, the U.S., and the Caribbean. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis. She was a deeply loved wife, mother, nana, aunt, cousin and friend. Connor, his wife Katherine, and her grandsons, Owen (8) and Brendan (2) are left behind to honor her memory.
