Blaze in McKeesport destroys house

McKeesport firefighters responded to this fire about 4 a.m. Tuesday at 608 Pirl St. Initial efforts from the front of the structure were delayed due to live electrical lines burning and falling, creating an unsafe operating environment. Duquesne Light was requested to respond to secure electrical power lines. Once power was confirmed secured, crews were able to safely begin operations on the front of the structure.
