John Frank Salopek

BUTLER, PA., FORMERLY OF DUQUESNE John Frank Salopek, 93, of Butler, Pa., formerly of Duquesne, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at his residence at Newhaven Court at Clear view in B u t l e r. Born March 24, 1932, in Du quesne, he was a son of the late Frank and Barbara Salopek, first generation Croatian immigrants. John was the youngest of nine children. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Betty; and by his eight siblings, Joseph, Michael, Matthew, Thomas, Anthony, Mary, Amanda and Agnes. After graduation from Duquesne High School in 1950, John worked for Carnegie Steel Company and Union Railroad before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1952. John was an aircraft sheet metal repair technician during his four years of service
