Woman killed when tree falls on car in White Oak

It happened along Jacks Run Road in White Oak.

A crash Sunday afternoon in White Oak resulted in the death of a 45-year-old woman after a tree fell on a couple’s car.

A witness shared images with WTAE-TV from the scene along Jacks Run Road, explaining that the driver had performed a U-turn when the tree came down as they were driving by.

“At first I thought the tree was hit by the car, but it actually fell on top of the power lines and came down so hard that it landed right on the roof and the windshield of the women’s vehicle,” Dennis Dull said.

Utility crews worked for hours at the scene to remove the tree and repair the power lines.

The severity of the man’s injuries has not been released.
