BVA Rotary donates EMS equipment

The Belle Vernon Area Rotary Club purchased seven pneumatic lift bag units for Rostraver West Newton Emergency Services, with help from a Rotary District 7305 Foundation grant. These units are very helpful in lifting patients and were demonstrated at the club’s Dec. 11 meeting at the Cedarbrook Club House Grille in Rostraver Township. Josh Hodgkiss, Scott Gates and Zoe Gruber from Rostraver West Newton Emergency Service expressed their appreciation and explained the role it provides in safely transferring a patient from the floor to a gurney. Rotary President Debby Puglia wrote the matching grant and procured the lift bags, for a total project cost of $7,000. Shown, from left, are Rotarian Brian Pirilla, Gates, Hodgkiss, Gruber and Puglia. The BVA Rotary Club serves the communities of the Belle Vernon Area and Frazier school districts. Submitted
