Hits & Misses

We are proud to support the initiative of the Mon Valley Paws nonprofit organization, which held its annual Giveback Celebration at Foster House II on Tuesday to thank donors and the shelters they are partnered with during 2025. Going above and beyond for animals in need, the organization’s mission is to provide assistance to individuals and nonprofit organizations that specialize in health care and the rescue of animals. Randy Marino is a retired Monessen Middle/High School principal who started MVP after he retired and he lost his beloved lab, Capone, and realized that insurance bills are expensive. In the past six years, more than $200,000 has been raised to care for animals. The volunteers also collect food — distributing tons of pet food to local shelters. If you’d like to donate to this worthwhile organization, call 724-493-8305, go to monvalleypaws.com or send an email to monvalleypaws@gmail.com.
