McKeesport’s Festival of Trees starts today

The City of McKeesport’s 40th annual Festival of Trees officially kicks off today at the Jacob Woll (Main) Pavilion in Renziehausen Park. Hours are noon to 9 p.m. today through Monday. Participants were busy Wednesday putting the final touches on their tree displays, including, from left, Lyndsay Brown, a teacher at the McKeesport Technology Center, and Denise Bollman, an art teacher at McKeesport Area High School, as she places the topper on a tree decorated with ornaments made by students from both schools in a collaborative project. See more photos on A2 and in our online photo gallery at www. monvalleyindependent.com. Jeff Helsel / Mon Valley Independent
