Alma A. Pennington – Rostraver Township

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP Alma A. Pennington, 74, of Rostraver Township, went to be with the Lord after a long illness on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, at Donnell House. A daughter of the late Andrew and Alma Byrns Hasco, she was born in North Charleroi on Aug. 25, 1951. A former 32-year resident of Dormont, Alma has resided in Rostraver for the past 25 years. A devout follower of God, she was a member of the Grandview Church of God in Pittsburgh, where she was instrumental in the funding and building of the church, outreach and the parsonage. Alma had been employed at Giant Eagle in Greentree for 10 years in the 1980s as a cashier and deli clerk. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed singing with her sisters in her younger years. Alma was a talented artist and enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting and tacking. She is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Robert H. Pennington; two sons, Robert John Pennington of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Joe Pennington of Rostraver; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and John Evans of State College; two sisters, Rosemary Pierce of Monessen and Janice (Richard) Fix of South Dakota; and seven grandchildren, Blake Pennington, James Pennington, Andrew Evans, Brian Evans, Katherine Evans, Rebecca Pennington and Daniel Pennington. In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www. FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory. com. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, in the funeral home with Pastor Alan Petke officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
