James S. Petre – New Eagle, formerly of Venetia

NEW EAGLE, FORMERLY OF VENETIA James Samuel Petre, 72, of New Eagle, formerly of Venetia, left this world on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025. James worked for Mathies Mine/ Mon View Mining from the age of 18 until its closure in 2000. James is survived by his wife of 51 years, Deborah Ann Pasqualini Petre, who resides at their home in New Eagle; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie (Terry) Kray; daughter, Jody Petre; grandchildren, Kendall Kray, Krystallynn Kray, Karley Kray, Kamden James Kray and Braden Petre; great-grandchildren, Evelynn Kray, Leo Kray and Phoenix Kray; niece, Joanna Ehlinger; nephew, Jason Petre; and grandsons-in-law, Dwain Alvarado and Shawn VanHorn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Petre and Mildred Farnsworth Petre; brother, Earl Petre Jr.; and sister, Carol Petre. There will be no visitations for Mr. Petre. His family is planning a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., Monongahela.
